EDC CENTER
The Enterprise Development Center (EDC) is a mixed use, small business incubator that combines access to space with technical assistance and training. With more than 13,000 square feet of quality space and a nurturing entrepreneurial environment, the Enterprise Development Center is designed to foster the successful development of emerging small businesses.
Small business owners that are in the incubator meet with Louisville Enterprise Group staff to thoroughly examine the strengths and weaknesses of the entrepreneur and the business opportunities. A course of action is devised that will facilitate business growth and lead to the acquisition of enhanced business ownership skills.
The ideal candidate for the Small Business incubator will meet the following criteria:
- Experienced management team
- Review written business plan Potential for growth and job creation
- Commitment to individualized development plan
The following organizations maintain office space at the Center and provide a wide variety of assistance and services to LEG clients:
The Housing Partnership, Inc.: A public-private partnership and a non-profit 401 (c) (3) Corporation that exists to create housing opportunities that are affordable for low and moderate income individuals.
Metro Business Resource Center brings local government together with federal programs to assist new and existing small businesses in meeting their goals.
U of L Office of External Affairs Community Relations Division is to facilitate the use of university resources to support existing partnerships and engage new partners to contribute to the educational, social, and economic progress of the community, region and state. External Affairs will build effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external constituents to advance the mutual needs of the community and the University. External Affairs shall be responsible for developing a process to evaluate the effectiveness of existing and new university/community partnerships.
West Jefferson County Community Task Force is a non-profit organization that provides research, education, information and validation of environmental justice issues to empower community residence to make rational and informed decisions in the mission of the WJCCTF.
